Official Rules
- A fee made payable to 'Mission Music Group', and a demo with lyrics and a chord chart with one (1) hymn rewritten or rearranged on a CD must be delivered to:

Entry must be received no later than November 1, 2005. Instructions for on-line entry are available at www.worshiphymns.com.
- Only one (1) demo CD (containing 1 song) per songwriter will be allowed.
- There are (2) categories of competition:
- A rewritten Hymn
- A rearranged Hymn
The Hymn text or melody must be in a current hymnal. The Hymn must be public domain so as not to complicate the publishing company ownership terms.
(An example of what we can accept Ð it is public domain - Take the Name of Jesus with You. You can either re-arrange or re-write the music, add a refrain Ð if it doesn't have one, etc)
(An example of what we can NOT accept Ð Sometimes "Alleluia" is a great song in the hymnal. It was written by Chuck Girard, and was published in 1974 Ð so therefore we cannot use an adaptation of that song as it is already published)
- Entries will be evaluated by a panel of industry professionals on the basis of overall quality including: chosen song, quality of the songwriting, lyric adaptation, and melodic and harmonic ideas, and the application for worship.
From this evaluation the top twelve (12) songs (6 rewritten Hymns AND 6 rearranged Hymns) will be chosen for the 'Worship Hymn Ð Around the World' nationally released album!
- The prize for the 12 final selections of Hymns will be the opportunity for your song to be recorded by the 'Worship Hymn' record label Devotion Music on the nationally released 'Worship Hymn Ð Around the World'. The album will be distributed by New Day Distribution, the song will be published by Mission Group Music and they will create 4 chart versions of the song to be available for downloads worldwide (see examples at www.worshiphymns.com), mp3 tracks also made downloadable, the song will be published and made available through CCLI, and the lyrics will be made 'shoutable' via www.mediashout.com.
- Employees of any sponsors, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and the immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible.
- Songwriters whose services are currently contractually obligated to an exclusive publishing company are not eligible to compete.
- No late entries will be accepted. Not responsible for late, illegible, mutilated or misdirected entries. Registration fees for late entries will be returned to the entrant.
- All entries become the final property of Worship Hymn 2005 Song Search. They will not be returned. But if your song is not selected, you retain the rights and the publishing right to your song. If your song is selected as one of the final 12, your song will then be published, and we will send you a publishing agreement for your song.
- By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges.
- Each entrant agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless any sponsors (including their employees, agents, officers, representatives, affiliates, parents, subsidiaries and their affiliated companies, and their employees, agents, officers and representatives) from and against any and all claims, actions, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) incurred by or asserted against sponsors at any time, caused by or resulting from, in whole or any material part, entrant's participation in the contest, including without limitations, third party claims relating to intellectual property infringement.
- Acceptance of prize(s) constitutes permission of the sponsors and its agencies to use winner's name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
- No purchase necessary. Simply follow the instructions on the order form to enter to win each prize offered in the Worship Hymn 2005 Song Search. Every entrant will be eligible for the prize offered in this Song Search. Void where prohibited by law.
- Open, only to U.S. residents who as of November 1, 2005, are 13 years of age or older. For groups, all members must meet the minimum age requirement. If younger than 18, entrant must have a parent or legal guardians signature on the entry form to enter.
